Just look at that happy little elf in the flowers! Those are Bunchberry [Cornus canadensis], and they grow on the edges of my favorite creeks (I have also spotted them this year in other places for the first time, but that doesn't fit my world view, so I'm ignoring it). Favorite flowers, favorite creek, add a wee bit of ink to a well-formed but somewhat boringly colored Mirror hiding in the Orphan File, and there you be here you are.
