I am sometimes asked how long it takes to create a piece. Like many questions about my process, there isn't one simple answer, unless it's "it takes until it's complete... for now."

"Physics Of The Next Step" was one of the very long indeed.  The original line drawing, (eventually titled "Imperfect Angels") in The Totems series was... chaotic.  It didn't match the tone of the rest of the Series, and I worked on it over the span of several weeks before I tucked it away, still not Getting it.  

In 2008, I pulled it back out to be the fourth in The Colorizations Series, where I hand ink an archival print of an original black and white line drawing. 
And again we stalled out after three days and it went back to the flat file.  It came back out in 2018 for completion, and, as 2020 was chaos' year,  Physics is the poster child.
